Driven by an early childhood passion for wildlife, Nick Ball has acquired international recognition as a professional wildlife photographer and filmmaker.

Inspired by nature focused family holidays as a youngster, Nick enrolled at the University of Surrey, where he earned a degree in Zoology. Using this as a stepping-stone to ever better things, his sense of adventure and a constant need to expand his horizons saw him packing up and heading to South Africa, where he obtained a Master’s degree in African Mammalogy from the Mammal Research Institute at the University of Pretoria.

Upon specializing in brown and spotted hyena after spending nearly two years researching in various bush locations around southern Africa, Nick decided to concentrate on his real passion – wildlife photography.

Nick has since taken his skill to a professional level by publishing internationally and achieving first prize in the Stefan Buczacki photography competition. Having established a base in southern Africa, Nick now travels extensively throughout the African continent, filming high-definition natural history documentaries for the likes of international broadcasters National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery and Channel 4 (UK), always in search of his favourite subject… wildlife!
